Linlithgow Organisations

The fellowship and friendships that members enjoy through Rotary is given purpose by our fundraising activities. Last year over £12,000 was raised for good causes and these were disbursed to various international, national and local charities and beneficiaries (see all our Avenues of Service pages earlier).

In the last presidential year, as in previous years, donations were made to Abbeyfield Home, Brae Court, a local sheltered housing complex, and Linlithgow Link. We have funded two Academy pupils who attended a Challenge Enterprise weekend at Tullialan Police College and two more young people on the outward-bound RYLA camps. We are trialing a "Coping With Life" project for primary school children with Linlithgow Bridge PS.

In the past, we have also supported St. Michael's Day Hospital, the local Pensioners Association, the town's Scout Troup, Linlithgow Young People Project as well as, from time to time, a number of individuals who applied for assistance to help them participate in an international project.

It is gratifying to find this support two way. The local company of the Girls' Brigade have purchased an Aquabox through our Club which, once filled with useful items by the girls of the Company, will go to a disaster area of the world to provide a rapid response provision of safe drinking water and welfare aid items.

If you are willing to purchase and fill an Aquabox, cost £45, or sponsor a ShelterBox, cost £460, please contact our secretary in the first instance.
