Popular Fund-Raisers
The Street Fair:
Linlithgow Grange is very active in our local area and participate in local events such as the 'Street Fair' organised by the town's Deacon's Court. The money raised goes towards funding the events for the Civic Week and Marches Day held every year on the first Tuesday after the second Thursday in June.
Here you see our stall at a typical Street Fair. In the front of the picture we have Past President Eddie Crawley. We raise over £200 for a few hours work as well as keeping Rotary's name to the forefront in the town as an active service club. All of the money raised is eventually disbursed to local charities. We also use the opportunity to sell tickets for our annual Fiddlers Rally.
The Fiddlers Rally:

Every year more than 50 musicians take part in our Fiddlers Rally held during the town's Civic Week. The musicians give their talents free. After all the expenses are paid, the remainder of the monies raised goes to charity. Some of the charities are local and some outwith the District.
In the past we have supported the local
Abbeyfield Home as well as
Brae Court, a local sheltered housing complex, the local
Pensioners Association and
CHAS - Rachel House - the Children's Hospice based in Kinross in Fife.

A Youth Music Event:

The Rotary Club of Linlithgow Grange actively supports and encourages young musicians in our area by promoting a Youth Music Event each year. Since the first event in 2001, which was a Youth Jazz Concert showcasing the professionalism and musical talents of the young people in the West Lothian Schools Orchestra Jazz Ensemble, the success of this entertainment has gone from strength to strength. In 2006, the choirs of the local primary schools accompanied by Linlithgow Academy School Orchestra provided a wonderfully enjoyable evening.
All the profits for the event goes to charities, mostly local, although in 2003 all the profits went to
Hope and Homes for Children and in 2006 provided financial support for three talented sports people under the age of 16..
More information and tickets for the Fiddlers Rally and Youth Music Events can be obtained from any club member.

Line of Coins Fundraiser:
The club International Committee organises our annual Line of Coins Fundraiser at the Regent Centre, Linlithgow in aid of the club's
"Playpumps Project". The money raised will go towards the purchase of a special pump capable of raising borehole water to a storage tank. The water is made available for human consumption. This type of equipment is much needed in drought struck sub-Saharan Africa.
